How to help

Find the size of each jump first: count the jumps between two numbers you know. Then count on from the nearest labelled number: halfway from 300 to 400 is 350.

Watch for: Counting the ticks instead of the jumps between them. Assuming each jump is 1 when the line counts by more. Ordering by the first digit only when the numbers have different lengths.

At home: Draw a line from 0 to a big round number on paper, and take turns marking where a number goes. Check by counting the jumps.
