Sharing fairly

Sharing a set of objects fairly among friends, so each gets the same number, and telling whether a share is fair.

How to help

Deal them out like cards: one to each friend, then another to each, until none are left. Then count one friend's pile.

Watch for: Giving one friend extra and stopping when the others are short. Counting all the objects instead of one friend's share. Calling a share fair when the numbers are close but not the same.

At home: Share a snack between family members by dealing it out one at a time. Ask: did everyone get the same?
