How to help

For one more or less, only the ones change. For ten more or less, only the tens change: 87, 97, 107.

count onkeep counting up from a number
count backcount down from a number
ten moreadd a ten: the tens digit goes up
one lesstake one away: the ones digit goes down

Watch for: Counting 99, 100, 200 or 109, 110, 1000. Changing the ones for ten more: 87 + 10 = 88. Counting back from 101 as 101, 100, 90.

At home: Count on from 95 to 120 together, then back down. Ask what 10 more than 104 is, and which digit changed.
