Weight in ounces and pounds, and liquid volume in cups, pints, quarts and gallons: choosing a sensible unit, reading a scale and a jug, and changing between units.
Two cups make a pint, two pints a quart, four quarts a gallon, and 16 ounces a pound. To change to a smaller unit, multiply: 3 quarts = 3 × 2 = 6 pints.

Watch for: Dividing when changing to a smaller unit (it's multiply). Thinking 20 ounces is less than 1 pound because 1 is small. Reading the scale's half marks as whole pounds.
At home: Fill a quart jar with cups of water and count them. Look at milk cartons: which size is a quart, which a gallon?
