Pick one kind and cross off each one as you count it, then write the number. Do the same for each kind. Every picture should end up crossed off.
Watch for: Counting a picture twice because it wasn't crossed off. Counting two kinds together because they look alike. Saying the kind with the biggest pictures has the most.
At home: Sort laundry, toys or a bowl of mixed snacks into kinds. Count each pile and ask which has the most and which the fewest.
