The bottom number tells how many equal spaces run from 0 to 1. Count jumps from 0 to name each tick: one jump is 1/3, two jumps is 2/3.
Watch for: Counting the ticks instead of the spaces between them. Spaces that aren't equal. Starting to count at 1 instead of at 0.
At home: Draw a line from 0 to 1 and mark the middle together: 1/2. Halve each half to find fourths.
