Time to the minute

How to help

Read the hour from the short hand. For the minutes, count by fives to the last number the long hand has passed, then count on the small marks one at a time.

Watch for: Reading the next hour when the hour hand is only part way there. Counting the small marks by fives. Working out elapsed time from the wrong start time.

At home: Ask the time from a clock with hands a few times a day, and how long until dinner.
