Counting on from any number

How to help

Say the first number, then keep counting from there: 8, 9, 10, 11. There's no need to go back to 1 each time.

Watch for: Starting over at 1 and losing their place. Skipping a number, most often in the teens, like 13 to 15. Not knowing what comes after 19 or 29.

At home: Pick a start number, like 6, and take turns saying the next number. Then try a new start, like 14 or 27.
