Watch for: Adding when the story says someone gives some away. Answering with a number from the story instead of working it out. Drawing detailed pictures that fill the space; dots or circles are enough.
At home: Make up stories with your child's name and things they like: Sam has 5 stickers and gives 2 away. Let them act it out with real things.
