Find the table first, then the ball. Over the table is above; under it is below; next to it is beside. Write the number for that word.
Watch for: Calling a ball on the floor next to the table “below” because it's low down. Mixing up the numbers: 1 is above, 2 is below, 3 is beside. Looking at the ball alone, without comparing it to the table.
At home: Play a hiding game: put a toy above, below or beside a chair and ask where it is. Then let your child hide it and tell you.
