For a turn-around fact, keep both numbers and swap their places: 2 + 9 = 9 + 2. With three numbers, look for a pair that makes 10, add it, then add the last one.
Watch for: Changing a number when switching the order. Writing the total in the blank instead of the missing number. Adding only the pair that makes 10 and dropping the third number.
At home: Line up 3 red and 5 blue blocks, count them, then swap the colors round. Same total? Ask why.
